Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Glass Art Deco hall lamp dating from ca. 1900–1910, with a patinated metal frame, 25 cm high, 16 cm wide and 16 cm deep, chain suspension 90 cm (total drop about 115 cm), E14 fitting, in excellent condition and fully wired for immediate use.
Description from the seller
A distinctive early 20th-century hall lamp that bridges Jugendstil craftsmanship and the emerging architectural geometry that would soon define Art Deco.
The lantern-shaped body is executed in patinated metal with elongated vertical piercings, producing a structured, radial light effect when illuminated—an interior hallmark of the period. The glass panels are clear with a lightly textured surface, complemented by stylised scalloped lower edges with green and amber glass accents, adding warmth, depth, and an early modern decorative character.
The pyramidal, tapering roof and chain suspension emphasise the lamp’s vertical, faceted silhouette, strongly aligned with corridor and hall lighting seen in Dutch and German interiors around 1910–1925. While the overall form still carries the artisanal honesty of Jugendstil and Arts & Crafts workshops, the strict symmetry, faceted lines and colour contrast at the base reveal the first steps toward Art Deco’s design vocabulary—where geometry replaced florals and lighting became an architectural statement object.
The lamp is fitted with an E14 bulb and is delivered fully assembled and immediately ready for use. No additional parts or fittings are required. The included E14 lamp ensures period-correct illumination and makes this hall lamp directly functional upon arrival.

Historical context
Around 1910, European lighting design entered a key transition phase: from organic ornament to architectural form. Lantern and hall lamps became signature interior pieces in bourgeois homes, corridors, stairwells and stylistically progressive spaces. Workshops influenced by Jugendstil, Arts & Crafts and the early Art Deco movement emphasised honest materials, symmetry, pierced metalwork and textured glass to diffuse light atmospherically. This lamp is a representative example of that shift toward high-end quality and spatial presence, combining artisanal production with the first geometric language of Art Deco.
Disclaimer: Fully functional and checked, but as with all vintage electrical items, a safety check by a qualified professional is recommended before use.
