Vintage 'Running Bishop' chess set. This is a rare set made in Germany in Eisenberg, Thüringen, in the late 60's. Complete with matching vintage chess board and the original cassette box with reptile motive decoration. The pieces, king's height is 9 cm, are hand carved. The running bishop (in German the word for bishop is 'Laufer' which means Walker or Runner, so in these set the bishops are always running) is a is a unique feature of this German maker. In very good condition. Still, one of the black bishops is missing part of a leg, but a small prosthesis could be a sufficient remedy. The chessboard measures 46 cm square.
