Description from the seller
Studio Delu. (1976) – Contemporary perspectives on comic book icons.
The works of Studio Delu offer a contemporary reinterpretation of major universes in comic strips and popular culture. Through iconic characters like Gaston Lagaffe, Tintin, Snoopy, Garfield, Becassine, and references to science fiction, each creation primarily aims to highlight the spirit and atmosphere of these timeless icons.
The panels combine illustrations from comics, three-dimensional elements, and sculpted components, integrated into carefully crafted compositions. The work focuses on the balance between image, relief, and material to give a new presence to familiar scenes. The choices of framing, depth, and finishing allow for a different interpretation, straddling the line between decorative object and artwork.
Each piece is handcrafted, with particular attention paid to details, textures, and overall harmony. The goal is not to transform the original work but to accompany it, highlight it, and provide a contemporary setting that interacts with the space in which it is displayed.
Studio Delu's creations are aimed at comic strip and pop culture enthusiasts who appreciate unique objects where craftsmanship and passion for these worlds come together. Each piece is a one-of-a-kind work, conceived as a personal and respectful homage, naturally destined to find its place in a collection or interior.
Studio Delu thus proposes sincere and singular works, where the soul of comics is expressed through a contemporary, sober, and attentive approach.
