Original edition

This Hindu tale was written and illustrated by the two sisters Margarita (1908-1932) and Consuelo Gill Roësset (1905-1995). From a wealthy family, they both received privileged artistic education. Margarita showed extraordinary natural talent for drawing at a very early age, and later for sculpture. She was only 15 years old when Rose des bois was published. She committed suicide out of love despair at the age of 24, after destroying part of her work.

Very good condition apart from some minor signs of wear on the first page of the title, with no severity.
