Description from the seller
Aosobayu Chawan 青蕎麦釉茶碗(あおそばゆうちゃわん)|Nemoto Ryohei 根本良平(ねもとりょうへい)
This tea bowl is finished with Aosobayu glaze, a traditional iron-rich glaze used in Japanese ceramics.
Depending on firing conditions, especially reduction firing, the glaze develops tones ranging from yellow-green to deep bluish dark green.
Characteristic granular speckles, reminiscent of buckwheat husks, naturally appear on the surface, creating a quiet yet expressive texture.
The subdued, rustic appearance embodies the spirit of wabi-sabi, while the deep green tones beautifully enhance the color of matcha.
This bowl offers both visual depth and a refined tactile presence, making it well suited for tea practice and contemplative appreciation.
