Description from the seller
Rare 1965 French Heavy Cut-Crystal & Fire-Gilded Brass Table Lighter – Paris Boutique Series
Pure 1960s–70s Parisian glamour in 391 grams of luxury.
This is the iconic French table lighter that defined chic smoking rooms and executive desks during the golden age: a thick, hand-cut lead-crystal body with deep vertical “bamboo” fluting (the exact same cutting pattern used on the ultra-collectible crystal trinket boxes and covered vases from the same series and very expensive.
The spring-loaded lid and all mounts are in richly fire-gilded brass/bronze, preserving their original warm gold tone and fine patina.
The rare black-and-gold “Made in France – Paris” retail sticker is still perfectly legible on the base – a hallmark of pieces sold in the most exclusive Paris department stores and duty-free boutiques of the era.
- Dimensions: 6 × 6 × 8.5 cm
- Weight: 391 g (real heavyweight crystal)
- Condition: Good vintage, please study the photos. The crystal is perfect with no chips or cracks. The fire-gilded brass shows the expected warm vintage patina and a few spots of light verdigris on the rim (completely normal for 50–60-year-old pieces). The microscopic scanier nick does not affect stability or appearance when displayed and is typical of gentle use over decades. Overall the lighter remains in a highly displayable collector condition.
Increasingly scarce in this untouched condition and highly sought-after by mid-century, Hollywood Regency, and French décor collectors. A true statement piece that looks spectacular displayed beside its matching crystal casket or on a marble bar cart.
Shipment: It will be packed with care and tracked.
