The story of this illustration, which was commissioned from Ted Benoit by the famous
Parisian brewery for the invitation card of a 60th birthday event.
Ted Benoit having limited abilities regarding resemblance.
or rather tried to evoke famous regulars without making real portraits of them.
Facing Miller, we have Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald. From behind, Gaston Bachelard.
A man dressed in a gray frock coat and top hat, coming out of a wedding while smoking a cigar.
Finally, three fictional characters, but very plausible within La Coupole for the era.
A young couple on their first date, under the vigilant eye of the girl’s chaperone.

Dimensions: 50 x 70 cm
Very good condition, but tear on the top of the silkscreen (see photo).
