One ceramic wall relief by Ruscha, glazed and dating from 1960–1970, featuring a hand-painted abstract sunflower motif in blue, yellow, green and orange on a turquoise background, with a back hanger, measuring 36 cm high and 48 cm wide, from Germany, with good used condition showing small signs of aging and blemishes.
Description from the seller
Mid-century Ruscha ceramic wall hanging.
The image is hand-painted and depicts an abstract sunflower motif in bright yellow and orange tones with green leaves on a turquoise background.
It features the characteristic Ruscha glaze.
It has a hanger on the back.
Unfortunately, the black ceramic has chipped off in some places.
1. On the bottom right-hand side, this could be concealed with black paint.
See picture Number 4 and 9.
2. On the picture itself, the black ceramic is missing in some places on the lower sunflower.
This can be repaired with a little black clay/adhesive.
This only affects a few black areas.
As mentioned, it only affects the lower sunflower, once in the middle at the top ( See picture Number 11 and 12
and on the right-hand side (See picture Number 13)
The coloured areas are all fine.
Please note that this is an original ceramic wall plate from the 1960s and 1970s and therefore shows signs of age on the surface, which are to be considered normal.
Dimensions:
Height: 48 cm
Widht: 36 cm
Depht: 1,8 cm
Weight: approx. 6 Kg
I try to describe all details accurately, except for normal signs of wear and tear/signs of use.
Please also note that colour variations may occur in the pictures depending on the lighting conditions.
Due to the shiny glaze, mirror reflections may also be visible. These are not chips, which I will describe in detail and illustrate with photos.
No labelling.
This wall panel has been attributed based on archive documents such as vintage catalogues, signatures from designers or other literature sources.
The book and vase next to the tile in pictures 1+ 2 are not included. They serve as a size comparison.
