FRANCO NATALE
Artist of the Light
Franco Natale was born in Calabria on February 19, 1936, in Capistrano (VV). Here, he found the ideal environment to nurture a painting rich in solar lights and Mediterranean colors. From an early age, his master of art and life was his grandfather, Domenico Natale. In 1953, he enlisted in the Carabinieri.
In Galati Mamertino, the young non-commissioned officer meets the woman of his life, his wife Mimma Giardinieri.
Vibrant and unforgettable, this experience as a non-commissioned officer of the Arma. Other paths await him, and he returns to Calabria, where he dedicates himself to art and teaching. From his marriage to Mimma, five children are born. In 1970, he begins the most exciting and rewarding period, with numerous exhibitions throughout Italy. He leaves his teaching position in middle schools, where he was appointed as an art teacher, to dedicate himself entirely to art.
It exhibits in the main Gallerie d’Italia and its works enrich very important collections around the world.
Many critical and public recognitions, the latest being the 'Premio Renoir,' awarded posthumously to Capistrano in 2018.
He died in Sant'Agata Militello on January 21, 2017.
