Lisbet Cuellar, 'Estado Interior', oil painting on canvas, original edition, created in 2025, 66 by 44 cm, Spain, hand-signed, a contemporary portrait in excellent condition, sold by Representante.
Description from the seller
Oil on canvas
Dimensions: 66x44 cm
Description:
This work features a female figure immersed in an atmosphere of intense emotional and symbolic charge. The predominant use of blue tones on the skin contrasts with a warm orange background, creating a visual tension that reinforces the introspective nature of the scene. The hand partially covering the face introduces an ambiguous gesture, situated between protection and control, inviting the viewer to an open and personal interpretation.
The closed composition directs attention to the face, the expressive axis of the work, while the firm and decisive brushstroke adds strength and contemporaneity. The figure appears suspended in a moment of contained silence, where vulnerability and determination coexist in balance.
A piece of contemporary figurative art with great visual and emotional impact, conceived for collectors interested in works that explore psychology, identity, and the language of gesture through color and form.
Lisbet Cuellar, visual artist and designer with a degree in theatrical art, specializing in scenic design from the Higher Institute of Art in Cuba, focuses on creating portraits and pictorial works that explore identity, emotion, and the visual narrative of the human being. I combine technical knowledge of design—integrating color, light, and composition—in an expressive manner.
My artistic practice focuses on contemporary figurative representation, with an emphasis on facial psychology and chromatic atmosphere. I also have experience in custom painting and drawing commissions.
Workshops June 2014 Introductory Course in Plastic Arts, Experimental Center of Visual Arts "José Antonio Diaz Peláez.
