Lot description

These bottles come from a private cellar and have been stored under excellent conditions for decades. A refined and increasingly rare mature Bordeaux from one of Saint-Émilion’s most historic estates.
⸻
Producer & history – Château Magdelaine
Château Magdelaine is one of the most legendary estates of Saint-Émilion. Its origins date back several centuries, and it was classified Premier Grand Cru Classé in the original Saint-Émilion classification of 1954. The vineyard was located on exceptional limestone and clay soils on the Saint-Émilion plateau, planted predominantly with Merlot and Cabernet Franc.
For many decades, Château Magdelaine was owned by the Moueix family, one of Bordeaux’s most respected wine dynasties, renowned for their rigorous vineyard management and traditional, terroir-driven winemaking style. Production was always limited, and the wines were known for their finesse, balance and remarkable ageing potential.
In 2012, Château Magdelaine was officially merged with Château Bélair-Monange, making older vintages such as 1983 increasingly scarce and highly sought after by collectors.
⸻
Vintage – 1983
Château Magdelaine 1983 is generally described as elegant, refined and fully mature, offering classic tertiary aromas such as dried red and black fruits, leather, forest floor, tobacco and gentle spice.
⸻
Condition & storage
These two bottles are offered from a private cellar and have been stored under stable, appropriate cellar conditions (cool, dark, temperature-controlled environment).
• Labels: original and well preserved, with light, age-appropriate patina
• Capsules & corks: intact, no visible issues
• Fill levels: correct and consistent with proper long-term storage
High-resolution photos are provided and form an integral part of the description. Please review them carefully.
⸻
Packaging & shipping
The bottles will be packed with great care in a strong, professional wine shipping carton, specifically designed for transporting 75 cl bottles. Each bottle will be individually protected with internal dividers and shock-absorbing materials.
Shipment will be carried out in accordance with premium wine shipping standards, via a reputable carrier, with tracking and insurance for the full value of the lot. Every effort will be made to ensure safe and secure delivery.
