Haegelen-Jayer Échezeaux Grand Cru 1996, 75 cl bottle, 1 bottle, Pinot Noir, Échezeaux, France.
Description from the seller
1 bottle (75 cl) of Échezeaux Grand Cru 1996, Domaine Haegelen-Jayer (Alfred Haegelen & Madeleine Jayer), bottled at the estate in Vosne-Romanée.
Unfiltered wine, produced by this rare family estate, linked to the legend Henri Jayer (Madeleine Jayer was his niece). The Grand Cru plots come from the Jayer family, offering an elegant and authentic style, influenced by traditional Burgundian methods.
History of wine/vineyard: Family estate created by Alfred Haegelen and Madeleine Jayer (niece of Henri Jayer), with plots inherited from the Jayer family in Échezeaux and Clos de Vougeot. Confidential and high quality production, today highly sought after but much more accessible than Henri Jayer's wines.
Parker Points / Reviews: No specific Robert Parker rating available for this vintage (a field little covered by major international critics at the time). Excellent 1996 vintage in Burgundy, often rated 90+ for similar Grands Crus.
Ready to drink or let age: At perfect maturity today (peak around 2020-2030, with potential up to 2035+ for well-preserved bottles). Ready to drink immediately (decafer 1-2 hours recommended), with evolved aromas of red/black fruits, undergrowth, spices and a beautiful liveliness.
Details on the condition:
- Filling level: Low neck (very good for a wine of almost 30 years, visible in photos)
- Label condition: Excellent label (clean, intact, without stain or tear)
- Condition of the capsule: Excellent (impeccable red capsule, without corrosion or damage)
- Bottle size/capacity: Standard bottle 75 cl
- Bottling: At the estate (bottled by Haegelen-Jayer in Vosne-Romanée)
Conservation in a temperate private cellar since purchase, direct French origin.
A rare opportunity for collectors and lovers of mature Burgundy - these Haegelen-Jayer bottles very rarely appear on the market!
Shipping method: Professional secure shipping (specialized wine packaging, full insurance, recommended expert carrier - costs borne by the buyer).
