About the Portfolio: This exquisite portfolio represents the mastery of Jeanloup Sieff, one of the most celebrated French photographers of the 20th century. While famous for his fashion and nude photography, Sieff’s landscapes are legendary for their use of wide-angle lenses, deep blacks, and dramatic skies.
Included Works (complete set of 18 plates): The portfolio features 18 iconic black-and-white plates, including:
• USA: Death Valley (1977), East Hampton (1963), Los Angeles (1977).
• Europe: Scotland (Loch Lomond 1972), Normandy (1983), Versailles (1974).
• Conceptual: Tributes to Jean Cocteau and Japanese-inspired landscapes.
Technical Excellence: The Heliogravure process used for this edition is highly sought after by collectors. Unlike standard offset printing, Heliogravure allows for a continuous tone and deep, velvety blacks that perfectly capture the "Sieff atmosphere."
Condition: The portfolio is in overall in very fine condition. All 18 plates are clean, no foxing or yellowing. All the images are in excellent condition. While the corners are generally sharp, there is a very minor, superficial handling crease at the extreme bottom right corner of the margins on the sheets (barely unvisible). This tiny mark is strictly confined to the outer white border and is far removed from the image area. The outer folder shows only very minor signs of wear.

• Paper: 300g Job paper for the plates; BFK Rives vellum for the text.
• Text: Includes the original introductory text by Alain D’Hooghe.
