A striking antique brooch crafted in 15 karat yellow gold with a silver front, modelled as a sinuous snake entwined in a looping openwork form. The serpent motif is entirely pavé-set with 81 rose-cut and old European cut diamonds, centring a striking brownish diamond approximating 0.25 carats. Two vivid faceted rubies are set as the snake’s eyes, adding a vivid pop of colour. A beautiful and symbolic piece of late 19th to early 20th-century jewellery, embodying themes of eternity and wisdom.
