J.M. Barrie. Arthur Rackham - Peter Pan im Waldpark - 1911

This is the rare and highly collectible first German edition of J.M. Barrie’s "Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens," titled here as Peter Pan im Waldpark. Published in 1911 by the renowned Gustav Kiepenheuer Verlag in Weimar, this edition is a masterpiece of the "Golden Age of Illustration."

Condition :
The green cloth cover shows significant fading and edge wear, with the gold-stamped illustration partially rubbed away. Moderate foxing and age-toning are present throughout the text pages, resulting in scattered brown spotting. The internal hinges are weakened and show visible separation, suggesting the binding is fragile. Significant staple rust has bled into the paper at the gutter, causing dark staining and making the paper brittle along the folds. Despite these structural issues, the 16 tipped-in color plates remain largely clean and intact. ( see pictures)
