Description from the seller
Impressive Mid-Century Modern Textured Glass Decanter.
This towering 31 cm tall decanter is a masterclass in Mid-Century Modern design, featuring a dramatic "bark" or "melting ice" texture that captures and refracts light brilliantly. Its commanding presence and sculptural quality make it a perfect centerpiece for a vintage bar or a sophisticated modern interior.
Design & Origin
Era: Circa 1960s–1970s.
Origin: Likely European—the textured "bark" aesthetic was pioneered by Scandinavian masters (such as Holmegaard or Whitefriars) and expertly emulated by Italian glassmakers in the Empoli region.
Style: Features a organic, tactile surface and a matching faceted or textured stopper that completes its seamless, architectural silhouette.
Condition Report
Body: In very good vintage condition, maintaining excellent clarity.
Stopper Details: Minor, superficial "flea bite" nicks are present at the very end of the stopper (the "stop") where it meets the neck. These are typical of authentic vintage glass and remain entirely invisible when the piece is displayed with the stopper in place.
Height: 31 cm (including stopper)
Diameter: 13 cm (at widest point)
Material: Hand-Blown or Molded Glass
Texture: Deep "Bark" or "Ice" effect
Authentic 1960s/70s European craftsmanship. While many decanters from this era suffer from heavy clouding or visible chips, this specimen remains clear and vibrant. The microscopic nicks at the "stop" are a hallmark of authentic vintage use and are completely hidden during use.
Shipping with track and trace.Of course very carefully and safe packaged.Item can be picked up in Ekeren (Antwerpen,Belgium).
