Description from the seller
Omega – Rare Vintage Airplane Dial Watch (c. 1938–1944)
Rare and original Omega wristwatch from the pre-war / early WWII period (c. 1938–1944). The watch stands out with its characteristic 'Airplane Dial' featuring an aircraft motif, Arabic numerals, and a small seconds at 9 o'clock – an extremely sought-after design among collectors of early aviation watches.
The original dial shows an even, authentic patina appropriate for its age. No restoration, no re-lacquering. Hands, print, and layout are consistent with the era.
Inside, there is an original Omega manual winding movement (Cal. 26.5-Family) with 15 jewels, clean and complete. The serial number and bridges match the case chronologically. The watch runs and keeps time; a service is recommended depending on the desired level of accuracy.
The housing is made of steel / nickel-plated, with age-related signs of wear. The screwed-down housing bottom is smooth and without engraving, as is typical for civilian models of that time.
