Beautiful abstract work (hand-colored relief print) created independently in 1969 by the versatile visual artist Theo Beerendonk (1905-1979). It is a UNIQUE piece, not produced in an edition! It is in very good condition — set in a recessed mat.
Theo Beerendonk has built an impressive body of work including still lifes, portraits, nudes, and abstract art. Theo Beerendonk studied at the Rijksacademie in Amsterdam from 1925 to 1931. In 1966, Beerendonk was appointed as a curator at the Rembrandt House, where he demonstrated etching techniques.
Recent work by Theo Beerendonk is exhibited at EICAS in Deventer (from October 21, 2023, to January 28, 2024), organized by Museum EICAS together with Museum Henriette Polak in Zutphen under the title Theo Beerendonk, Always in Motion.
