Important editorial work of great artistic and collectible value.
The volume reproduces in full the first Encyclical Letter Deus Caritas Est by His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI, a foundational text of his magisterium, dedicated to the central theme of Christian Love.
The text is handwritten with a nib in Gothic script by calligrapher Barbara Calzolari.
Headpieces, miniatures, and friezes are works by Tiziana Gironi.
Chiffon card with filigree by Marilena Ferrari (paper size 54 × 72 cm).
The binding in natural calf leather is embellished with hot-pressed silver engravings.
Two plates feature a patinated inlay in 800‰ silver (36 × 57 cm) and two patinated bas-reliefs in 800‰ silver (16.5 × 17.5 cm) depicting the portrait and coat of arms of Pope Benedict XVI.
The frontispiece features a serigraph reproduction of Pope Benedict XVI's signature.
The artwork is contained within a rotating plexiglass structure.
The editorial project was conceived by the Marilena Ferrari FMR Foundation to celebrate the hundredth anniversary of Mother Teresa of Calcutta's birth, establishing itself as a true editorial work of art.
