Description from the seller

Last copy

Offered special Browning 50 caliber barrel sleeve / cooling sleeve.

This type of sleeves were mainly used in American bomber (B25 and B29 superfortress) gunners and turrets, also for fighters (P51 mustang) and other aircraft.

The sleeve served as extra protection for the barrel but also provided moderate airflow during flight for optimal cooling of the barrel so that it did not overheat.

Note:

In April 1945 the Browning M3 was officially designated, but it was already in use under the production code (sub variant M2) T25E3 in July 1944.

Also suitable for various (sub variant M2) T27 models which were put into service in 1943, however, due to various mechanical defects, production stopped in January 1944 and later types in April 1945.

This sleeve does not fit the standard M2

The sleeve is complete with the characteristic end piece. Muzzle booster

Length is approximately 110cm and width is approximately 10cm

Attention!

This item is free to own and only served as an extra cloak.
