Description from the seller
This exceptional timepiece from the 1920s is a refined example of 'Savonette' watchmaking, characterized by the presence of a protective cover enclosing a dial of rare clarity. Made with a 53 mm Gold Double case, the watch stands out for its imposing structure and a weight of 93.6 grams, which give the piece a sense of remarkable solidity and importance. Inside the back cover, the engraving 'Double Or Garantie 10 Jahre' certifies the superior quality of the gold plating, which was guaranteed at the time for an entire decade against wear. The white enamel dial, signed Dody, features elegant Arabic numerals and a subsidiary dial for the small seconds at six o'clock, all harmonized by refined, cut-out gold hands in vintage style. This model, crafted with artisanal mastery and bearing the Swiss Ginevra factory mark inside the case, remains in splendid aesthetic and mechanical condition. Still perfectly functional, the watch is not only a valuable collector's item but also a living testament to the mechanical elegance of the early post-war period.
