Interestingly, the volume was edited by K. M. Kertbeny (Karl Maria Kertbeny), a Hungarian-born writer, translator, and cultural mediator, best known today as the coiner of the term “homosexuality”.

Original publisher’s full brown cloth binding. Gilt lettering and decoration to spine and front board, now slightly rubbed. Embossed decoration to both front and back boards. Gilt page edges, still bright.

Very good overall condition. Binding firm and solid. Interior clean and well preserved.

Attractive 19th-century literary translation volume, of interest to collectors of Hungarian literature in translation and Central European cultural history.
