Original Swiss Army military rucksack from 1945, made of hair-on cowhide with leather straps and metal buckles, stamped by E. Christen Zurich and dated 1945, in very good original condition.
Description from the seller
Original Swiss Army military rucksack from the World War II period, made of hair-on cowhide with leather straps and metal buckles. This is the classic Swiss Army “Tornister” type backpack.
The rucksack is stamped with the maker’s mark E. Christen Zurich and dated 1945, confirming late WWII production. The maker stamp is clearly visible and authentic. Inside the flap there is also a handwritten name, indicating genuine military issue and period use.
The rucksack is in very good original condition. The cowhide exterior is well preserved, with strong hair coverage and natural age wear. All leather straps, buckles, stitching, and closures appear original and intact. The interior canvas compartments are present and solid. No restorations or modern replacement parts observed.
Condition shows honest wear consistent with age and military use, but overall the item remains structurally sound and visually attractive.
A scarce and desirable piece of Swiss WWII military field equipment, suitable for collectors of World War II militaria or Swiss Army items.
