A dark brown oak plant pedestal/side table from the Netherlands, dating to circa 1950–1960, with a 27 cm diameter top, 63 cm height, weighing about 2.5 kg, in a simple, straight design of antique style and good used condition.
Description from the seller
Decorative pedestal / plant table. The pedestal is 63cm high and the top has a diameter of 27cm. The weight is approximately 2.5kg. The pedestal probably dates from the 1950s, but it could also be from before World War II. It is a sturdy, honest, and simple plant table.
The pedestal consists of a turned shaft, with a blade mounted on top. This shaft with the blade is again mounted on a base with three legs. The beauty of the design is that both the legs, as well as the shaft and the two blades, are each equipped with twisted ribs. This creates unity in the design; sleek, simple, yet graceful and stylish.
This table was probably made as a plant stand, but it can also be used as a pedestal or as a side table (see photos). The oak wood used is heavy and of good quality.
The pedestal still looks very beautiful, and the darkly stained oak wood has a lovely shine (especially when it has been waxed). Signs of use are visible on the left and right, but these are logical signs of use.
The table still looks good. The classic shape gives the furniture a very beautiful and robust appearance. It is not a refined piece of furniture, but a functionally made folk furniture that still has all the charm it once had. Especially with a statue, it becomes a majestic whole!
The plant table / pedestal is carefully packed and shipped insured.
