Burdick Group system desk designed by Bruce Burdick for Herman Miller in the 1980s, with steel supports, forged aluminium arms and a two-part black-lacquered timber top, measuring 210 cm wide, 91 cm deep and 74 cm high, in excellent condition with only light signs of wear and aging.

Desk/Table 'Burdick Group' by Bruce Burdick for Herman Miller (1980s)
This lot features a desk/system from the Burdick Group, designed by Bruce Burdick for Herman Miller in the 1980s. Described by Time magazine as one of the best industrial designs of 1981, the Burdick Group is an iconic furniture system, praised for being one of the first highly functional and flexible designs, capable of accommodating the integration of computer terminals and other office electronic equipment.
With its exclusive and engineered design, this table embodies a perfect synthesis of modern design and operational flexibility.
The Burdick table is based on a highly configurable structural frame, known for its build quality and premium materials.
The table is divided into two black lacquered wood surfaces, one of which ends in a half-moon shape, resting on die-cast aluminum arms.
The high-precision die-cast aluminum arms support the platform. The upper surface of the arms is glazed to reduce reflection and enhance visual contrast.
Base: The leg supports are made of black terra di Siena enameled steel, with aluminum bases.
The modular composition allows the desk to be easily modified and expanded, adapting to new operational models and making it a versatile piece for an office or a home study.
The table is in excellent condition for use.
It is complete in every component, with only minor signs of use, consistent with its age.
The feet, currently positioned symmetrically for the current setup, can naturally be moved along the central bar at will.
