Mammal - Fossil plate matrix - Hyaenodon sp. - 11 cm - 17 cm (No reserve price)
Hyaenodon bones preserved on their original matrix.
This specimen features a very well preserved canine tooth measuring approximately 5 cm, a partial molar and a bone element of about 5,5 cm (probably a toe bone). The fossils are clearly visible on the matrix, with excellent details. No restorations have been made on this specimen.
The matrix measures 17 x 11 x 3 cm.
This fossil originates from the late eocenic site of Saint-Hippolyte-de-Caton, an important site that was studied by the famous naturalist Georges Cuvier. This site is now closed to collecting.
This insertion is an excellent opportunity to get a rare and authentic specimen from a famous locality.
