An original Japanese woodblock printed book from the Meiji period (late 19th century), featuring multiple woodblock-printed illustrations and text.
The work is attributed to Okamoto Kisen, a Japanese writer active from the late Edo to early Meiji period, and was published by Kameya, as indicated in the publisher’s marks and advertisements within the book.
The book is bound in traditional Japanese style and includes illustrated pages depicting people, daily life, and narrative scenes typical of the period.
Condition:
The book shows heavy signs of age and use, including foxing, stains, discoloration, insect damage, edge wear, creases, and a loosened binding. Some pages show losses and fading. Please carefully examine the photographs, which form an integral part of the description.
