PROCESS: gelatin silver print on fiber-based paper
DIMENSIONS: c. 23.5 x 18.2 cm
CONDITION: minor imperfection in lower right corner, otherwise very good – as illustrated.

German photographer Werner Eckelt (born 1914 in Berlin), active as an artist/painter and photographer from the 1930s onwards, is best known for documenting life in post-war West Berlin. He would later travel all over the world to photograph dancers, artists, actors, writers, and politicians of international fame such as Andy Warhol and Cy Twombly. He published in numerous magazines and his Berlin pictures appear in a photo book of his work, titled "Requiem for West Berlin: Pictures from a Lost Time” in 2000.
