The author, Rene Bary (deceased in 1680), was the historian of King Louis XIV, a rhetorician, and the author of manuals on eloquent speaking. The first part concerns physical phenomena on Earth, bodies, motion, etc., while the second deals with the sky and celestial bodies. This is the first volume of the series.
