Description from the seller
The B-watch is the abbreviation for Beobachtungsuhr, which means observational watch. These watches were used by the flying personnel of the German Luftwaffe during World War II.
The Defense Economy Office mandated various manufacturers to produce B-watches in 1940. The Reich Aviation Ministry (RLM) set very high requirements for these watches in a specification sheet.
The B watches had a uniform diameter of 55 mm. They were worn with a double riveted fastening band over the flight suit.
The Messerschmitt ME-42 Pilot Gold is a replica of these major models in Type B - Pilot version. It is equipped with the Swiss ETA Automatic movement ETA 2836-2, gold-plated, with Incabloc shock protection, in the Day-Date version. The watch is limited to 20 pieces. They are bidding on number 7, an absolutely unworn specimen.
The watch case is made of stainless steel PVD gold-coated, 42 mm in diameter, with luminescent numerals and hands, sapphire glass, glass back, water-resistant to 5 atm, and equipped with a hand-stitched vintage leather strap.
The case back and the cone crown are also coated with PVD gold.
The certificate with the number 7/20 certifies the rarity of this timepiece 'Made in Germany'.
Collectors pay far over 800 euros for such pieces.
