France origin, model: 6 Early XXth Century damask silk and linen napkins with C.D. initials, measuring 70 cm by 85 cm and in excellent condition with white colour.

These 6 silk and linen damask napkins are part of a 3 generation "dowry".
The couple who I was able to get the entire " trousseaux " from own various
properties in both France and Italy.
The children ,great grand and grand children, as is now so often the case, are not in the least
interested in their heritage as it means far too much work to keep it all in excellent condition.
These napkins are part of 22 napkins, but I have decided to split them into sets of six.
Should you wish to buy more they will be distributed in this auction and the next one in
February.
They are exceptionally very generous in dimension at 70cm x 85cm.
Being silk and linen they have a soft supple luxurious feel.
The damask design show large flowers and if I am not mistaken they look like
chrysanthemum ,lily of the valley ,and weeping sun flowers?, other flora, plus an abundance of large leaves.
The initials C.D . are embroidered in soft and tender relief.
The napkins are "hand hemmed."
PLEASE NOTE:
Three of the napkins are still slightly off white as they have not been so much used as the other 3 which are white.
The off white napkins, after a few times washing will show white.
