Sonja Timmers - Spring

My name is Sonja Timmers, and I am an artist from Rotterdam. I completed my propedeuse at the Willem de Kooning Academie, an academy for visual arts. After two years, I switched to another study, 'Social History,' at Erasmus University, which I successfully completed. Currently, I work in the cultural sector in Rotterdam, part-time at Codarts, the Rotterdam conservatory, and the other half of the time as an independent artist commissioned by private clients. Additionally, I create my own work. My website shows that, besides art and music, I am also very interested in dance. This interest has manifested in various urban dance paintings. These paintings have also served as promotional material for theater performances.

The offered painting measures 170-100 cm and is an oil painting with an impasto texture. It is a portrait depicting one of the seasons: spring. The scene shows a woman under a weeping willow with young blossom and leaves. Silver leaf inlay.
