Signed lower left.
Presumably datable to the late 1800s.
It is possible to see on the back of the canvas a label confirming the exhibition of the painting at the 'Galerie für alte und neue kunst' in Berlin during the months of November and December 1907.
Excellent condition of preservation.
Light signs of aging and wear clearly visible in the photo.
Photo as an integral part of the lot description.

Edel was born on September 10, 1863, in Stolp, in Germany (now Słupsk, in Poland).
He received his artistic training at the Academy of Fine Arts of Monaco and the Académie Julian of Paris.
After her studies, Edel settled in Berlin, where she specialized in painting and illustration.
His work was mainly featured in humorous reviews and earned a reputation for his distinctive poster art.
