Description from the seller

This celadon vase features a slender cylindrical form with a gently articulated shoulder, emphasizing vertical balance and calm proportion. The surface is covered in a soft, translucent celadon glaze, pooling subtly along the contours and revealing fine crackle throughout. Near the rim, natural iron-rich blushes emerge in warm reddish tones, created during high-temperature firing and adding quiet contrast to the cool glaze.

The restrained decoration and emphasis on glaze behavior place the work firmly within the tradition of modern Japanese studio ceramics, where form, firing, and material expression take precedence over overt ornament. The vase is accompanied by its original wooden tomobako, inscribed in ink and bearing a seal, indicating careful presentation and intended appreciation as an art object. Both contemplative and sculptural, this piece reflects a refined dialogue between classical celadon heritage and contemporary ceramic sensibility.
