Description from the seller

Robert Parker
Finally, the 1983 Lafite begins to soften. The wine displays a deep ruby/garnet color with only a slight lightening at the rim. Its intoxicating aroma of pencil, white bread, red and black fruits, minerals, and toasted herbs is provocative. On the palate, this wine shows considerable body for a Lafite, plenty of power, and a fleshy, rich, and sweet texture. Long, elegant, fleshy, and surprisingly meaty, this exceptional Lafite seems to have been forgotten given the number of high-quality vintages during the golden decade of the 1980s.

Winespectator (91)
Another excellent vintage of Lafite. Extremely fresh, with a pleasant blackberry and cassis character, medium body, and full tannins.

René Gabriel (18)
René Gabriel rates this wine 18/20 points.
