Description from the seller
Dear Bidders,
I'm offering here a beautiful set of 3 fat lava ceramic vases from Scheurich and Bay Keramik.
For all who loves colors and positive vibrations!
These ceramic vases were produced by Scheurich Keramik and Bay Keramik, two of the most important manufacturers of West German pottery (WGP) during the mid-20th century.
Both companies played a key role in shaping the aesthetic of post-war European ceramics. These vases are fine examples of authentic West German design, combining sculptural forms with characteristic studio-style glazes, making them highly collectible today.
The vases feature a carefully curated colour composition, combining harmonious yet contrasting tones that enhance their sculptural presence. This thoughtful colour selection reflects the design philosophy of the 1950s–1970s, where glaze and form were treated as an integrated artistic statement.
SOME GENERAL INFORMATIONS:
Scheurich Keramik, founded in 1928 in Germany, became internationally known for its high-quality Art Pottery, modernist forms and experimental glazes, especially during the 1950s–1970s.
Bay Keramik, established in 1933, was one of the largest German ceramic producers of the post-war period, renowned for bold shapes, rich lava and drip glazes, and expressive colour effects.
