Refined baroque oval frame of Italian manufacture, datable to the 18th century, made of metallic sheet with silvering, finely worked in repoussé and subsequently chased.
The piece features a rich and harmonious decorative sculpture developed on multiple levels, with scrolls, plant motifs, and rocaille ornaments, typical of Italian baroque taste. The modeling is energetic yet balanced, with a continuous flow of curves that elegantly frame the central oval light.
The craftsmanship was carried out on the back through hammering, according to seventeenth-century traditional techniques, as confirmed by the visible structural joints on the reverse side, an element that attests to its authenticity and period craftsmanship.
On the back, there are also still the original fittings for inserting a small painting, a miniature, or a mirror, a detail of considerable collectible interest.
