Description from the seller
The Keeper of the Inner Flowers
Fusco's work presents itself as an intensely symbolic and decorative vision, where figuration merges with a vibrant, narrative chromatic language. At the center of the composition dominates the figure of a stylized, frontal, and hieratic cat, rendered in a deep, textured black that serves as the visual anchor of the entire scene. The animal's body, elongated and elegant, is animated by a constellation of floral motifs, spirals, and ornamental signs that seem engraved or painted like an emotional mosaic, evoking a rich and layered inner world.
The eyes, large and asymmetrically colored in shades of yellow and blue, immediately catch the viewer's gaze, conveying a sense of vigilant mystery and silent awareness. The thin, light-colored mustache crosses the surface with a decisive graphic gesture, while the small red nose adds a touch of delicate irony. The tail, curled into a harmonious curve, contributes to the formal balance of the composition.
The background is divided vertically into contrasting yet complementary color fields: warm shades of red, orange, and yellow dialogue with cool hues of blue and green. In this space, an imaginary garden unfolds, populated by stylized flowers, droplets, circles, and hearts, painted with bold, gestural brushstrokes. Each element appears imbued with symbolic meaning, as if telling fragments of emotions, affections, and memories.
The work as a whole conveys a fairy-tale and contemplative atmosphere, suspended between naive art and contemporary sensibility. The painting invites the viewer to an intimate and poetic reading, in which the cat becomes an emblem of protection, introspection, and harmony between the natural world and the emotional dimension.
