A scene of a grain stack on a beautiful summer day.
The artwork measures 46 x 62 cm, with a frame of 55 x 72 cm.

Münninghoff, Xeno Augustus Franciscus Ludovicus ('Xeno') was married to the painter Mathilda Jacoba van Vliet. He lived and worked in Deventer until 1892; Amsterdam until 1896; Heelsum from before 1901 to after 1903; Katwijk aan Zee, Doorwerth, Renkum, Oosterbeek. He was a student of A. Hijner in Deventer (1890-1892) and of the State Normal School in Amsterdam (1892-1896) under J.D. Huibers. He obtained the certificate in drawing. From 1897 onwards, he was director of the Evening Drawing School in Renkum. He painted, drew, etched, and lithographed figure scenes and later mainly forest-like landscapes, heather views, old houses in a landscape, etc. He worked in a naturalistic style. In 1910, he received a gold medal at the Provincial Utr. exhibition. He taught A.J. de Booij, J.A. Jakma, B.H.A. van Londen, and C.J.G. van Oosten Slingeland. Among other memberships, he was a member of 'Arti et Amicitiae' in Amsterdam.
