In the south-western area of Montalcino lies the Case Basse estate, covering a total area of 23 hectares and owned by Gianfranco Soldera and his wife since the early 1970s.

TOSCANA SANGIOVESE IGT "CASE BASSE"
It is vinified naturally, in oak vats, without the use of artificial yeasts and without temperature control. This is followed by five years of ageing in large Slavonian oak barrels, and finally a few months of refinement in the bottle completes the picture.
It is from the utmost simplicity that the greatest wines are born, and Soldera's Sangiovese di Toscana "Case Basse" is the most striking example of this.
Starting with the 2006 vintage, it is classified as 'Toscana Sangiovese IGT', with a view to further consolidating a brand - that of Soldera - which is unrivalled in the entire Ilcinese landscape.
Bright and invigorating, well defined in every nuance, precious in its finish, deep and full of character: this is a wine that you will fall in love with and that you can forget in your cellar for decades. It is a Sangiovese of pedigree.

The 2003 vintage of Brunello Riserva Soldera was surprisingly smooth and open, with great class and a very pleasant personality.
Parker noted that, despite already being advanced in its aromatic profile, suggesting a shorter longevity than exceptional vintages, it showed excellent texture and remarkable balance.
