Description from the seller
Everybody always mentions Ziggy Stardust, but Bowies Lets Dance is just as big a record. Groundbreaking too for him, as it put him back in the spotlight and the hitparades. It is on offer here, first pressed, absolute mint, accompanied by its predecessor Scary Monsters and Super Creeps, follow-up Never let me down.”
All albums are in superior condition. Hardly played as I got the cd’s as well. They were stored well-protected safely, cherished and loved. Not one blemish on either sleeve nor vinyl. Please check the pictures, all of them, even the corners are still as new.
1. Scary Monsters. The 1980 album was the follow-up of his famed Berlin trilogy which got loads of praise but did not sell much. This one did! The Ashes to ashes-single (and video) made it instantly to the top, Fashion followed swiftly. It mostly ends way high in lists of best records ever.
Scary monsters, RCA, PL13647, 1980, Netherlands, first pressed (black labels). Original inner sleeve included. Vinyl mint, sleeve mint
2. Lets Dance. In retrospect it meant the end of the twenty-year collaboration with Tony Visconti. Because for Lets Dance he turned to Nile Rodgers and Chic, plus Stevie Ray Vaughn. This is the only album on which Bowie does not play any instrument, he just sings. It contains two covers: Iggy’s China Girl and Metro’s Criminal world. It turned out to be his best-selling album ever and made him a superstar.
Lets Dance, EMI 064-400165, 1983, Europe, first pressed. Original inner sleeve included. Vinyl mint, sleeve mint
3. Never let me down. Bowie described his 17th album a ‘a return to rock ‘n roll. It featured his old school mate Peter Frampton, they reacquainted in his new home in Switzerland. The title track is a homage to his longtime personal assistant Coco Schwab. It contains three singles and was followed with the Glass spider tour. This copy is a sought-after first pressing, containing the song Too Dizzy which he removed from later releases
EMI America, 24 0746 1, 1987, Netherlands. Vinyl mint, sleeve mint, including original lyric sheet. Vinyl mint, sleeve mint
As said, all albums are in extraordinary condition. You will rarely find them in this new state. Check the pictures and my reviews: I deliver. For these cherished records. I will add protective inner and outer sleeves. They will be preciously packed an swiftly send. Please take good care of them!
