Book title Biblia: Dat is de gantsche H. Schrifture, a 1868 Dutch leather‑bound edition published by Kampen, S. van Velzen, measuring 39 cm by 30 cm with 767 pages in good condition.
Description from the seller
Bible: That is the entire Holy Scripture, containing all the canonical books of the Old and New Testaments. By order of the High Mightinesses, the States General of the United Netherlands, and according to the decision of the National Synod held in Dordrecht in the years 1618 and 1619. Faithfully translated from the original languages into our Dutch language. With newly added explanations on the darker passages, references to similar sounding texts, and new indexes for both Testaments. And, by common order of the Dutch Churches, corrected for printing errors and inaccuracies found in the first edition. Kampen, S. van Velzen, 1868. Folio. (56)332(4)144(30)169(4)70 pages.
Psalms: The Book of Psalms along with the Hymns used by the Reformed Church of the Netherlands; by order of the High and Mighty States General of the United Netherlands, selected from three translations in the year 1772, with necessary modifications; as well as the Formularies of Unity, the Liturgy, and the Church Ordinance of the Reformed Churches. Kampen, S. van Velzen, 1868. Folio. (4)64 pages; 58(2) pages.
Beautiful original leather binding, with blind stamps on the covers. The bottom of the spine has a damage, and there is a scuffed spot on the front cover, see the photos. Despite this, it is a very beautiful original binding. Two original copper hooks. The book block has some spots here and there and is lightly browned, but it is in good and beautiful condition. This copy contains Lithographs produced by the same publisher. There is also a color map at the back. Additionally, it includes the Psalms, Formularies, and Church Order. A fine example of this 19th-century edition.
