Wall sconce (2) - Gilt bronze - Bronze Appliques

In this auction, two gilt bronze appliques of Italian craftsmanship are presented, specifically made in the Gulf of Naples by a master bronze caster.
The appliques are of notable artistic value, highly decorated, and rich in details.
In the center is a sculpture of a fruit basket.
They were displayed in six in an important Neapolitan noble dining hall, hence the choice of a fruit basket as decoration.
They are spectacular, a heartfelt compliment to the auction winner.
The gold plating is in excellent condition despite the age of 280 years!!!
Significant oxidation on the back part is observed, indicated by the amount of copper from the bronze.
One has undergone a halfway restoration and shows signs of an old repair.
They are now very difficult to find appliques!
