Oil painting on canvas titled LA PEUF by Yves Weiler (2020), original edition, hand-signed, 60 × 60 cm, weight 0.5 kg, sold with frame, depicting a landscape.
Description from the seller
This oil painting, titled La peuf, derives its name from the colloquial term for powdery snow—fresh and light—highly sought after by mountain enthusiasts.
Inspired by a personal photograph taken in the Trois Vallées, the work depicts an exceptional winter morning, just after a nocturnal snowfall, when the landscape is still intact and silent.
The vast white expanses, bathed in cold, crystalline light, dialogue with the bluish hues of the alpine reliefs. The winding traces in the snow become a guiding thread, suggesting movement and human experience at the heart of an still-virgin space, never breaking the sense of calm and freedom.
Through this minimalist composition, the artist is not only trying to depict a landscape but also to capture the fleeting emotion of a privileged moment: that of an intimate encounter with the mountain, when silence, light, and matter blend together.
Peuf is an invitation to contemplation, escape, and winter softness.
The canvas will be carefully packed and shipped by the artist to ensure proper shipping conditions. The artist commits to doing so promptly.
