Carved Bamboo Walking Stick – Samurai Motif – Japan, circa 1920–1940

Beautifully carved walking stick made of bamboo, featuring an intricate samurai warrior in full armor surrounded by geometric and foliate patterns. The carving is deeply detailed yet crisp, highlighting the natural golden tone and darker patination of the bamboo. The brass ferrule at the base is original and fits snugly, protecting the tip of the stick. This is a fine example of early 20th-century Japanese export folk art, likely made for Western travelers during the interwar period. The craftsmanship and design show strong Taishō to early Shōwa era influences.
