Description from the seller
Main features of the work
• Grazia Varisco (1937) • “Studio for Reggiani graphics” • Mixed media on cardboard (single, hand-applied color intervention by the artist) • 49×68 cm (with frame) • 32×51 cm (work) • 21.5×29.5 cm (colored image) • Labeled by hand in the lower left • Signed by hand in the lower right • Unique work • Certificate of Authenticity Il Ponte • Provenance: Italian private collection.
A unique work of extraordinary visual strength and presence, with intense colors and clear shapes that occupy space in a decisive and authoritative way. The color, applied by hand by the artist, makes the piece a hybrid, strong and experimental work, with high autonomy and visual quality. The image presents itself as fully realized, powerful and highly impactful, built with rigor and precision, a direct expression of the method of Programmed Art translated into graphics of the highest level.
Work accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity issued by Il Ponte. The piece is datable to around the late 1960s–1970s, based on the stylistic and technical characteristics of the artist's graphic production.
Grazia Varisco, born in Milan in 1937, is an absolute protagonist of Italian art in the latter half of the 20th century. Alongside the celebrated explorations in Programmata and Kinetic Art, she has developed a significant graphic and visual design activity, with work for leading institutions such as La Rinascente, for publishing and cultural communication. Her work has operated in constant dialogue with the Italian design world, including through design collaborations with figures such as Achille Castiglioni, one of the most influential Italian designers of the twentieth century. This dual dimension, between visual research and design, has helped consolidate her international profile, evidenced by her numerous participations in the Venice Biennale.
The buyer will receive the artwork in carefully packed and sturdy packaging. Very fast shipping. Free pickup available in Monza/Milan.
