Description from the seller
Two wooden chess clocks by the brand GARDE RUHLA, which made clocks before World War II. At the bottom of the dial, it says MADE IN G.D.R., made in the German Democratic Republic, indicating they were produced in East Germany (in West Germany, they used 'made in West-Germany'), so before the fall of the Iron Curtain. The dark brown GARDE clock is the oldest and dates from the early 1970s, and the dial lacks the brand name, indicating it is one of the first clocks. The light brown clock is from a slightly later date and has a small repair in the upper left corner (it is not 'loose').
Both clocks are working perfectly, and they continue to operate without any issues over time.
Do the clocks show signs of use?
These beautiful clocks are carefully packaged and shipped insured.
