ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The Gorilla embodies raw strength held in restraint. The figure does not roar, does not attack — it observes. Power here is silent, dense, controlled.
The composition focuses on the face and upper body, bringing the viewer into direct confrontation with the animal’s gaze. Each stencil cut builds the fur like a rhythmic pattern, almost organic, creating a vibrating surface that blurs the line between body and environment. The gorilla seems to emerge from the background rather than stand in front of it.
Green and mineral tones dominate the canvas, evoking nature, depth, and endurance. This palette reinforces the idea of an ancient force — something rooted, immovable, and timeless. The contrast between light and shadow sculpts the face, revealing intelligence as much as physical dominance.
The stencil technique plays a key role in the tension of the piece. Precision meets instinct: the rigor of the cut opposes the wildness of the subject. The result is not a simple animal portrait, but a symbolic figure — authority without violence, strength without excess.
This artwork appeals to collectors attracted to primal imagery, inner power, and balance. A commanding piece that anchors a collection through presence rather than spectacle.
About the artist
I am a French stencil artist whose work explores contrast — between instinct and precision, chaos and control, heritage and contemporary expression. My practice combines spontaneous, textured backgrounds with meticulously hand-cut multi-layer stencils.
I have exhibited alongside major figures of the urban art scene such as L’Atlas, C215, Carole B, Wawapod, and Jo Di Bona at the SPERA ART FAIR.
My work has been collected throughout Europe, with more than 300 artworks sold internationally.
I also create live painting performances for major institutions and brands, including Disneyland Paris.
Each artwork is a unique original. While stencils may be reused, every background is created instinctively, ensuring that no two works are ever identical. My approach revisits iconic figures and powerful symbols through tension, restraint, and emotional depth rather than simple representation.
