Artwork Description
Liquidity Trap translates an economic condition into a visible and physical state. A real dollar bill, rolled and immobilized within the composition, becomes the central metaphor: wealth that exists yet no longer circulates. Value is present, exposed, and undeniable — but structurally frozen.
The Ace playing card introduces the logic of chance, risk, and speculative systems. Traditionally a symbol of dominance and potential gain, it here exists in suspension, reflecting environments where probability governs outcomes more than intention. Together, the dollar and the card articulate a tension between accumulation and paralysis, control and randomness.
By embedding real objects into a digital artwork, the work deliberately collapses the boundary between representation and reality. Currency is no longer depicted — it is materially present and deliberately arrested. The piece exists at the intersection of image and object, where meaning is not illustrated but enacted.
Liquidity Trap reflects on contemporary fixation with wealth, visibility, and symbolic power. It questions how abundance can immobilize movement, how value can obstruct perception, and how systems designed to generate security often result in stasis. The work does not resolve this contradiction — it holds it in place.
ABOUT THE ARTIST / STUDIO
Sarah K Studio is a contemporary digital art studio developing concept-driven projects that examine social norms, economic behavior, and systems of value in modern society. The studio’s practice focuses on how abstract structures — such as money, risk, desire, and status — shape perception and decision-making.
Rather than producing conventional prints, Sarah K Studio conceives each artwork as a critical project. Digital images are deliberately interrupted through the integration of real, physical elements that carry cultural and economic meaning. This material intervention transforms the work from reproduction into object, and from image into statement.
Themes such as liquidity traps, speculative behavior, power symbols, and collective fixation recur throughout the studio’s work. By materializing these concepts, Sarah K Studio exposes the tension between abundance and paralysis, freedom and control, visibility and illusion.
Through limited, carefully executed releases, the studio creates works that move beyond decoration — positioned for collectors who engage with contemporary culture, social structures, and long-term relevance.
