AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Bible; that is the entire Holy Scripture. Containing all the Canonical Books of the Old and New Testaments. By order of His High Mightiness: the States General of the United Netherlands and according to the decision of the National Synod. Held at Dordrecht in the years 1618 and 1619. Faithfully translated from the original languages into our Dutch language. With new accompanying explanations on the darker passages, annotations of the similar sounding texts, and new indexes for both Testaments. And corrected for printing errors and misstatements found in the first edition by common order of the Dutch Churches. Dordrecht, H. and J. and P. Keur. Amsterdam, M. Doornick and P. Rotterdam, 1702. [colophon: Dordrecht, printed by Hendrick, Jacob, and Pieter – Keur] Folio. (40)302(4)134(24)164(4)66 pages.

Original leather binding with ribs and blind stamps on the spine and boards. The spine has been restored, with a new spine made over the old parts. The large stamps on the boards were applied using embossing technique. Complete with 8 copper corners and 2 clasps. The two hooks of the clasps were reattached during restoration. They are two genuine old hooks from another copy. The headbands and tailbands have been renewed.

Original binding with a new spine, making the Bible suitable for carefree use. Open and close it without the spine crumbling.
Beautiful copper fitting.
A cool notebook
Complete with 6 beautiful cards on thick paper.

Beautiful and sturdy book block. A few small stains here and there, but still a very beautiful and clean book block. The 6 cards are also in very good condition, on sturdy paper. In short, it is a neat and beautiful copy.
